PPC Campaign Launch

BUCKLE UP, KIDS - IT'S TIME FOR LAUNCH!!

Okay, maybe I'm getting overly excited, but I do feel that the beauty of paid search advertising is it's a supremely do-it-yourself medium. As such, you can go from conceptualization to launch in a very short period of time. That's because there are very little barriers to entry.

The only thing you really need to set up an account on Google Adwords is a credit card and, of course, your campaign elements (keywords & ad copy).

However, just because you CAN, doesn't mean you SHOULD launch a campaign without giving any thought to strategy and set up. A good campaign requires some up front thinking and, yes, a checklist. Remember, I've been doing this for a decade. Trust me.

PPC Launch Checklist

  1. Create/categorize the keyword list(click here for tips on building a super fantastic keyword list)
  2. Write Ad Copy (don't skip this page even if you've written your ads. It's full of lots of pointers.
  3. Assemble the keywords and ad copy together in a spreadsheet that's makes them easy to upload
  4. Download Google's Adwords Editor
  5. Established a monthly budget
  6. Determine how you're going to pay for your ads - most small advertisers will use a credit card. Larger advertisers may qualify for invoicing if they pass a credit check
